Fridolin Deisenhammer

Fridolin Deisenhammer was born in Vöcklabruck in Upper Austria in 1939. He received his diploma for painting in 1964 in the master class of R. C. Andersen at the Academy of Fine Arts in Vienna and he also received the art teacher award. Deisenhammer passed his teaching examination on art, craft education and history and got his job at the grammar school. From 1966 Deisenhammer stayed in Vienna. Afterwards he lived with his family in Istanbul and taught at the St. Georg College until 1978. His works developed from the green-blue Attersee landscapes and the Viennese surroundings to a flavor of the Orient. The pictures he brought with him from Istanbul and his desire to travel influenced his artistic work. In 1987 Fridolin Deisenhammer received the Theodor-Körner-Prize.

Fridolin Deisenhammer mainly produced watercolors. His motifs range from playing golf to erotic depictions to depictions of landscapes. He often colored his drawings with watercolors and made linocuts, which he colored with colored chalk. His artistic work ranges from representational representations to purely abstract works. His abstract works are very dynamic and the coloring gives them a special accentuation.
