Heinz Kiessling

(1888-1962)

Heinz Kiessling was born in Berlin in 1915 and was a painter and graphic artist. He studied in Berlin and Hamburg and was an employee of the „Westermanns Monatshefte“ in Braunschweig. The artist traveled to the Balkans, France, India, Persia, North Africa and Spain. From 1957 to 1970 Kiessling was a lecturer at the Fachhochschule für Gestaltung in Hamburg. He had numerous exhibitions, such as in the Berlin gallery „Maison de France“. Among other things, his works are in the possession of the Hamburg cultural authority. Heinz Kiessling died in Hamburg in 1991 and was one of the best-known German artists in the 1950s and 1960s.
