The happiness and joy I feel at the sight of two tits outside my window, the glimpse of a radiant blossom emerging from the almost parched summer grass, experiencing nature in all its diversity—the infinite richness that life offers.

It is an intense contemplation that grows stronger as I age, and this attentive, seeing listening, this turning toward the world with all the senses, lifts one beyond one’s own existence into a sense of connectedness.

And so a work of art, too, wishes to be seen and experienced—as a stepping out of the solitude in which it was created, toward the one who looks and listens……”
